The accelerated development of rural revitalization and the transformation of scenic spots are inevitable for rural development. It is just how to avoid blind development in development, which leads to unnecessary waste of resources and even environmental damage, and it is indispensable to accurately locate its environment. Next, the editor selected four successful cases from the Netherlands and Japan for everyone to enjoy. I hope these cases can bring some inspiration to our development.
“Grow” Farmland Lighting Installation
Agricultural lighting + art design = rural romance
“GROW” from Studio Roosegaarde in the Netherlands is a 20,000-square-meter light installation. At first glance, this work is a lighting design that combines agro-ecology. The artist places high-density LED lights in different positions in the field. The units move up and down to distribute the light evenly across the field, allowing users to experience a “dancing light” pattern.
The lights sway with the ecological environment of the crops to form a very beautiful picture, but after reading the introduction, you will find that this work not only looks good, but also helps the growth of crops. Lights make crops a visual spectacle and help promote growth. Certain light combinations not only enhance the metabolism of plants, but also create resistance to pests and diseases.
Of course, it’s not just a work of art, Daan Roosegaarde and his team, photobiology experts, have been developing for more than two years, trying to use the farmland as a canvas, with poetic and plant-boosting red, blue and ultraviolet light. LED light not only makes the space beautiful and stunning, but also reduces the use of pesticides by 50%
Van Gogh path in the Netherlands
Integrate creativity and energy saving to create a classic
Dutch designer Dan Rothgaard has designed a bike path in Labbant that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The driveway was designed by Dan Rothgaard in 2014 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Van Gogh’s death.
Inspired by Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”, the driveway is made up of solar-powered LED lights and thousands of pebbles, which are charged by the sun during the day, and emit a speckled light like a starry sky at night, which can last for 8 hours.
By using 50,000 fluorescent “stones” in a swirling arrangement, the winding and magnificent starry sky effect in “Starry Sky” is achieved. This design can be said to be a very interesting artistic practice.
Although the overall light spot is still, it still brings the same dynamic feeling during riding, as if Van Gogh’s paintings come to life, which seems to be illusory.
Tunnel of Light in Japan
Turn waste into treasure and make history show a different style
In 2018, MAD Architects led by Chinese architect Ma Yansong participated in the 7th Japan “Echigo-Tsumari Triennial” and renovated a sightseeing tunnel with a history of more than 20 years, named “Light of Light”. tunnel”. The works stand out in the exhibition and become the most popular items at the festival.
The “Tunnel of Light” is 750 meters long and consists of the entrance of the “Tianhe” – the tunnel – the viewing platform. The tunnel runs through the canyon rock wall composed of hexagonal stones of Chongjin Gorge. At the end of the “mirror pool”, the water surface, the mirror surface and the natural fusion reflect the scenery of the four seasons outside the tunnel, showing the aesthetic meaning of “although it is made by man, it is like the sky opens”.
“Echigo-Tsumari & Seto Inland Sea International Art Festival” founder Kitagawa Fulang once commented on Ma Yansong’s architecture: “In Ma Yansong’s architecture, the architecture and nature are infinitely close, and there is only a layer of ‘skin’ between them. In Japanese There is a word called ‘virtual and solid film’, that is, fiction and reality are often reversed, and it is not clear what is virtual and what is real.”
The design cleverly utilizes the length of the tunnel and the progressive sense of light to create a fantastic spatial visual effect. At the same time, the decoration of mirrors is added in the tunnel, which adds a dreamy feeling to the mirror reflection and light refraction. In addition to the retro lamps in the tunnel, the light source hidden in the mirror is also a highlight.
The scene of Mirror Pond is the artistic conception of “virtual and real coexistence” in Chinese tradition. A surface of water reflects the semicircular opening into a full circular mirror. Light becomes a paintbrush, and changes in water, sunlight, and weather become paint, adding poetry to nature.
Japanese Star Village Cafe:
Make good use of technology and use technology to create freshness
Multimedia artist Ryotaro Muramatsu leads the “Starry Sky Village” event every winter. The Starry Sky Village Cafe he planned is a rest area located in the scenic spot “HEAVENS SONOHARA (under the most beautiful starry sky)”. The interior design of the store is based on the theme of “star” and “cosmos”, and uses technological techniques such as projection and interaction to display the precious space of the universe in astronomical detection in front of tourists.
Over time, the lighting and images in the store also change, and digital menus appear on the table. The walls and floors of the store, including safety exits, are all decorated with digital art.
In the winter of 2019, Achi Village introduced NAKED Inc.’s starry sky light and shadow show, and then connected to the top of the mountain reached by a cable car completely in the dark, completing the perfect starry sky trip. The event also fully reflects the concept of environmental protection, and cooperates with the Central Electric Power Company to use all carbon-free power energy.
With its superior starry sky resources, Azhicun has innovatively created core derivative products on the basis of reasonable development and utilization, and integrated the elements of interactive experience and popular science learning in addition to viewing, so that the theme brand of “Starry Sky” has been thoroughly launched.
Key words such as natural environment, rural characteristics, agricultural development, energy conservation and environmental protection are the key points in rural reconstruction. By making good use of these points, we can turn corruption into magic, and let the countryside achieve real meaning in addition to maintaining the simplicity that the city aspires to. revitalization.
